Design & Project Management for Fine Food Retail
"Most refits are led by contractors or designers with a vested interest in the build. At Food Retail Partner, we sit on your side of the table, designing spaces that are commercially effective and aesthetically considered, then managing delivery to make sure what gets built is exactly what was designed."
“Fine food retailers don't know what they don't know. That's exactly where we come in.”
Design & Project Management for Fine Food Retail
Rooted in the countryside, built around your business
I’m Tom Burgh and I created Food Retail Partner through a desire to support independent fine food retailers.

I choose to focus on this sector because I value the people and the ethos behind it. These are businesses built on skill, hard work and close ties to land and community. I understand how they operate, both commercially and day-to-day.
Having spent most of my career serving food retailers in design, shopfitting and refrigeration, I've gained a passion and understand of what makes a successful retail shop.

Working alongside me is my partner Loryn, who focuses on interior design, concept development and 3D visualisation. She brings ideas to life visually, helping our clients clearly see how their space can look and feel before work begins.

Together, we combine practical delivery experience with thoughtful design, always in an independent support role that keeps our clients in control.

Turvins Farm Shop
Kent
Created from a disused barn on the Chevening Estate, Turvins Farm Shop is a new retail space that brings together agricultural heritage and considered retail design.

Working in partnership with the Turvins team, we transformed the building into a warm, functional and commercially effective shop environment. The layout was carefully developed to create a natural customer flow, guiding shoppers through the space while giving key categories the presence they need to perform.

Authenticity was central to the design approach. Reclaimed pallet wood was used to clad the multideck chillers and form a striking feature wall, introducing texture, warmth and a handcrafted quality that reflects the rural setting and the ethos of the business.

Craftsmanship and detail run throughout the space, balancing the raw character of a working farm with clean, functional retail design. Every element has been considered to enhance the customer experience and day-to-day usability for the team.

Flexibility was a key principle from the outset. The shop has been designed to evolve, allowing for seasonal changes, category growth and future development, ensuring the space continues to work as the business grows.

The images shown were taken in April, ahead of the shop’s opening in June 26, we'll be adding pictures of the completed, trading shop soon!
